Oil Rises on Supply Data

Oil futures rose Wednesday after the government released data showing a decline in distillate fuels, which include heating oil, reinforcing concerns that supplies might be stretched thin this winter.


Light sweet crude for December delivery rose 41 cents to $62.85 a barrel in midday trade on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Heating oil futures rose by 5 cents to $1.94 a gallon, while gasoline futures climbed by more than a penny to $1.6675 a gallon.
