Oil Slides as Wilma Misses Refineries

Crude futures fell Monday as Hurricane Wilma crashed ashore in Florida, avoiding already battered Gulf of Mexico oil producing and refining facilities.


Light sweet crude for December delivery slipped 31 cents to settle at $60.32 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. December Brent crude futures on the International Petroleum Exchange in London also eased, falling 77 cents to $57.71 a barrel. Heating oil futures fell 6.92 cents to close at $1.793 a gallon, while gasoline dropped 5.83 cents to settle at $1.586 per gallon.
