Oil Prices Fall on Gas Stocks Rise

Crude futures fell Thursday on news that gasoline stocks rose last week and as forecasts predicted that Hurricane Wilma will likely avoid key oil facilities along the Gulf Coast.


Light sweet crude for November delivery dropped 74 cents to $61.67 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gasoline fell half a cent to $1.6700 a gallon, while heating oil fell nearly 2 cents to $1.8960. Natural gas lost 2 cents to $13.348 per 1,000 cubic feet. Brent crude futures for December fell 41 cents to $58.19 a barrel on London’s International Petroleum Exchange.
