Westlake Village-based Troika Networks Inc., a data storage software and hardware maker, was purchased by Aliso Viejo-based Qlogic Inc. for $36.5 million.

Qlogic is a $3 billion company that makes adapters, switches and management software for storage networks. It plans to integrate Troika’s products into its platforms, which it sells to server and equipment makers including Dell Inc., Fujitsu Ltd., Hewlett-Packard Co., International Business Machines Corp. and Sun Microsystems Inc.

Closely held Troika is backed by venture firms including Anthem Venture Partners, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Dynafund Ventures and Windward Ventures. The company raised $14.4 million in venture funding in July, but does not disclose financial information.
