Oil Prices Fall as Wilma Fears Ease

Crude futures fell Tuesday as fears eased over the threat of Tropical Storm Wilma, with the storm looking more likely to avoid oil facilities in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.


Light sweet crude for November delivery slipped 60 cents to $63.76 a barrel by afternoon in Europe in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude futures for December delivery fell 77 cents to $59.80 a barrel on London’s International Petroleum Exchange. Heating oil fell nearly 3 cents to $1.9550 a gallon, while gasoline slipped more than 4 cents to $1.7725 a gallon. Natural gas lost nearly 44 cents to trade at $13.450 per 1,000 cubic feet.
