Chain Store Sales Rise

U.S. chain store sales slowed in the last week of May, as cool weather curbed the sales of seasonal goods, a report said on Wednesday.


Sales in May to-date were up 2.5 percent compared with April. Sales at major retailers rose by 2.9 percent on a year-over-year basis for the week ended May 28, said Redbook Research, an independent company.
