Crude futures drifted lower Tuesday amid fresh signs that high prices are depressing fuel demand.
Light sweet crude for December delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange fell 4 cents to $57.65 a barrel by afternoon in Europe. The contract rose 16 cents on Monday. In London, December Brent crude fell 7 cents to $54.65 a barrel on the ICE Futures exchange.
