Chain Store Sales Up in Third Week of May

U.S. chain store sales rose in the third week of May, as warmer weather helped lift sales of seasonal goods, a report said on Tuesday.


Sales in May to-date were up 2.6 percent compared with April. Sales at major retailers rose by 3.4 percent on a year-over-year basis for the week ended May 21, said Redbook Research, an independent company.
