Stocks moved higher Friday, boosted by stronger-than-expected consumer sentiment in early June as higher oil prices lifted energy shares.

The University of Michigan consumer sentiment index for early June roe to 94.8, market sources said, well ahead of May’s 86.9 and higher than analysts had expected.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 60.46 points, or 0.6 percent, at 10,639.11. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index was up 6.34 points, or 0.5 percent, at 1,217.30. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 5.28 points, or 0.3 percent, at 2,094.43.
