Los Angeles-area gas prices continued slipping, falling nearly 4 cents a gallon last week, according to the Energy Information Administration. They are now around 2 cents per gallon higher than they were one year ago.

The average gallon of self-serve regular in the Los Angeles area was $2.335 for the week ended June 13, down from $2.377 the previous week. L.A. gas prices are about 26 cents lower than they were on April 14, when the decline began.

Statewide gas prices dipped nearly 3 cents, averaging $2.333 per gallon, but they are still about 4 cents higher than one year ago.

California still had the highest gas prices, and San Francisco held onto the title of being the most expensive city, out-pricing Los Angeles for the eleventh straight week, with an average of $2.357 per gallon.

Minnesota was the lowest-priced state of the areas surveyed, at $1.999 per gallon, and the city with cheapest gas was Houston, at $2.005 per gallon.
