U.S. chain store sales rose in the first week of July, as discounters were still seeing strong seasonal sales, a report said on Tuesday.
Sales at major retailers rose by 4.2 percent on a year-over-year basis for the week ended July 9. Sales in July to-date were up 0.2 percent compared with the same span in June, said Redbook Research, an independent company.
