The average gallon of self-serve regular in the Los Angeles area was $2.197 for the week ended Feb. 21, edging up from the previous week’s $2.138. L.A. gas prices are 10 cents higher per gallon than they were one year ago.

The statewide average was $2.150 per gallon for the week ended Feb. 21, up from $2.091 in the prior week and nearly 12 cents higher than they were one year earlier.

California remained the most expensive state in which to buy a gallon of gas, and Los Angeles was the most expensive city in California. The only other city in the Energy Information Administration’s weekly report to break the $2 mark was San Francisco, which rang in at $2.107.
