PC Mall Inc.

PC Mall reported a fourth-quarter loss of $42,000 (breakeven per diluted share), compared with earnings of $1.1 million (9 cents) for the like period a year earlier. Net sales for the Torrance-based direct marketer of computer products rose 12 percent to $325.4 million.


On a pro forma basis to exclude charges of 10 cents a share for Sarbanes-Oxley related consulting charges, stock-based compensation expense and software write-offs, PC Mall earned 10 cents a share in the most recent fourth quarter. This compares with pro forma earnings per share of 10 cents for the year-ago fourth quarter, which excludes a stock-based compensation expense of 1 cent per share.


Core business segment sales excluding the company’s eCOST.com and Onsale.com businesses for the quarter were $266.4 million, up 5 percent from $253.4 million for the same period of the prior year.



Superior Industries International Inc.


Superior Industries International reported fourth-quarter net income of $11.9 million (45 cents per diluted share), compared with $23.1 million (85 cents) for the like period a year earlier. Net sales for the Van Nuys-based aluminum car component manufacturer rose 1.6 percent to $234.5 million.


The fourth quarter included a $2.9 million charge related to component shipments to Tower Automotive, which declared bankruptcy in February 2005. Results also included an operating loss from Superior’s aluminum suspension components business of $2.7 million, compared to a loss of $2.2 million for the comparable period of 2003.
