Gas Prices Continue Steady Rise

For the fifth week in a row, gas prices rose in Los Angeles, according to data from the Energy Information Administration.

The average gallon of self-serve regular in the Los Angeles area was $2.138 for the week ended Feb. 14, climbing from the previous week’s $2.103. L.A. gas prices are now 22 cents higher per gallon than they were one year ago.

The statewide average was $2.091 per gallon, up from last week’s $2.053 and nearly 22 cents higher than the comparable period of 2004.

Like the week before, California remained the most expensive state in which to buy a gallon of gas. And Los Angeles continued its reign as the most expensive city in California to fill up your tank.
