Investor optimism surged in December to its highest level in 10 months, as lower gas prices may have boosted optimism about economic growth, a monthly survey from brokerage firm UBS and the Gallup Organization released on Tuesday said.
The index rose to 79, up 29 points from last month. The last time the Index was this high was in February of this year, when it hit 82.
