Oil Prices Up Ahead of Key Data

Oil prices rose Wednesday ahead of the government’s weekly snapshot of its petroleum supply, which was expected to show dips in stocks of heating fuel.


February light sweet crude rose 24 cents to $58.33 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange on its first day of trading as the front-month contract. February Brent crude futures on London’s ICE Futures exchange rose 25 cents to $56.42 a barrel.
