Oil Climbs on Drops in Inventories

Oil prices rose Thursday after a government report that showed declines in crude and gasoline inventories last week.


Light sweet crude for January delivery rose 5 cents to $57.37 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange by afternoon in Europe. January Brent at London’s ICE Futures exchange rose 8 cents to $55.13 a barrel.
