Oil Prices Edge Higher

Crude-oil prices finished slightly higher on Thursday, a day after prices plunged by nearly $3 a barrel.


The front-month September contract for light, sweet crude rose 2 cents to settle at $63.27 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gasoline fell nearly 3 cents to settle at $1.8629 a gallon, while heating oil gained less than a cent to settle at $1.7905 a gallon. In London, October Brent crude on the International Petroleum Exchange slipped 16 cents to settle at $62.40 a barrel.
