Tenet Healthcare Corp. will officially move its corporate headquarters to Dallas on Jan. 3.

In June, Tenet, the hospital operator that ran into trouble for overbilling the Medicare system, announced it would begin a transition of its headquarters from Santa Barbara to Dallas, where its largest administrative office is already located. About 700 employees work at the Dallas headquarters. The Santa Barbara office will gradually wind down its remaining operations and close June 30.

“We are strategically reinventing this organization with a sole focus to support and grow our 69 hospitals throughout the United States,” said Trevor Fetter, the company’s president and chief executive officer. “The consolidation of our headquarters is part of that strategy.”
