Jean Brugger has been promoted to director of broadcast traffic at DDB Needham Los Angeles. His responsibilities include tracking and executing all agency broadcast spots from production through distribution. Brugger was most recently broadcast traffic manager.

Tom Connor has been appointed head of marketing and brand strategy at 3 Ring Circus in Hollywood. He will oversee development of strategic marketing and promotion plans. Connor was previously senior vice president of marketing and creative services for Paramount Pictures.

Architecture

Rick Fivekiller has been appointed to the new post of executive director of WWCOT in Santa Monica. He will be responsible for overall operations of the firm, including human resources, business development and public relations. Fivekiller was previously with O’Brien Kreitzberg.

Banking & Finance

Anthony D. Cinquini has been promoted to managing director of Banc One Capital Funding Corp. He will manage the firm’s Los Angeles office and is responsible for capital markets financing on the West Coast. Cinquini was previously a senior vice president.

Keith F. Knudsen has joined the Pacific Bank as vice president and business development officer in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for business development in the bank’s Southern California region. Knudsen was most recently vice president of Sterling Business Credit.

Mark D. Stolper has joined West Coast Capital LLC as senior vice president in Beverly Hills. He will be responsible for executing private financing and mergers and acquisition transactions. Stolper was previously with Dillon, Read & Co. Inc.’s corporate finance and private equity groups.

Cynthia Vermiglio-Klement has been promoted to vice president at Union Bank of California in Monterey Park. She previously was assistant vice president and compliance officer at Home Savings Bank in Irwindale. Also, Thomas P. Garry has been named vice president in the bank’s entertainment finance group in Los Angeles. In addition, Ben Silver has joined the bank as a vice president in the commercial finance division in Los Angeles.

Consulting

Barbara Lewis and Dan Otto have been named co-managing directors of Perseus Consulting LLC in Westwood. They will be involved in managing the firm’s projects and consulting with clients. Lewis and Otto founded Centurion Consulting Group in 1995.

Walter J. Mix has been named managing director of Secura Group in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for managing and building the company’s West Coast practice. Mix was previously California state commissioner of financial institutions.

Entertainment

Phil Barlow has been promoted to the new post of executive vice president of Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group in Burbank. He will be in charge of new technologies involving motion picture exhibition. Barlow was most recently president of Buena Vista Pictures Distribution. Chuck Viane has been promoted to president of Buena Vista Pictures Distribution. He was most recently senior vice president and general sales manager.

Ann Caffey has been named senior vice president of information technology at Warner Elektra Atlantic Corp. in Burbank. She will be in charge of implementing and managing the company’s information systems. Caffey was most recently vice president of information technology for EMI Music Distribution.

John Jacobs has been named executive vice president of marketing for Destination Films in Santa Monica. He will oversee marketing activities, including creative advertising and publicity. Jacobs was most recently president of worldwide marketing at Mandalay Entertainment.

Roger Lefkon has been appointed senior vice president of entertainment operations for Merv Griffin Entertainment in Beverly Hills. He is responsible for all day-to-day operations. Lefkon was most recently vice president of programming and business affairs.

Kenneth McCormick has joined Metro-Goldwin-Mayer Inc. as senior executive vice president in Santa Monica. He will be involved in shaping corporate strategy. McCormick was most recently managing director of J.P. Morgan & Co.’s Los Angeles investment banking office.

Hospitality

Michael Rubin was appointed senior vice president of sales & marketing of Luxe Hospitality Corp. in Los Angeles. His responsibilities will include development of sales and marketing programs, and supervision of sales staff. Rubin was most recently national retail fashion sales manager for the Los Angeles Times.

Insurance

Ken Lowman has been appointed vice president of Lockton Insurance Brokers Inc.’s employee benefits division in downtown Los Angeles. He will be involved in automation, training and staffing for the company. Lowman was previously vice president and manager of employee benefits for Johnson & Higgins.

Law

Dale Goldsmith has been named partner at Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman & Machtinger LLP. Goldsmith currently serves as real estate and land-use counsel for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Carole A. Klove has been named partner with Davis Wright Tremaine LLP in Los Angeles. She practices health law and works with health care providers on Medicare/Medicaid compliance. Klove was previously an attorney with the firm.

Media

Thomas Deters has been appointed senior vice president/group publisher and editorial director of Weider Publications’ men’s and endemic groups in Woodland Hills. He will oversee strategic business development and editorial direction of Men’s Fitness, Muscle & Fitness, Natural Health and Flex magazines. Deters was most recently associate publisher of the men’s and endemic group. Also, Kathy Nenneker has been appointed senior vice president and group editorial director of the publication’s women’s group. She was most recently an associate publisher and creative director for the publishing company.

Jane Stonnington has been named manager of affiliate sales for the Military Channel’s Pacific and Southwest affiliate. She will direct the network’s sales activities in their Redondo Beach office. Stonington was previously national account manger of the Western region for the Weather Channel.

Museums

The Autry Museum of Western Heritage in Los Angeles has announced three new executive staff members. Evelyn Davis has been named director of marketing and sales, Joan Marshall has been named director of development, and Linda Strauss has been named chief conservator for the museum.

New Media

Donna Bhatia has been appointed vice president of marketing for Cooking.com in Pasadena. She will be involved in developing the online server’s advertising and brand identity. Bhatia was previously vice president of marketing and new business development for Walt Disney Co.’s direct marketing group.

Personnel

Robin L. Jones has been appointed managing director of Paladin Staffing Services’ Los Angeles office. She is responsible for managing staff and developing new business for Southern California. Jones was previously director of account services for DDB Promotions.

Public Relations

Denis Wolcott has been promoted to vice president and director of media relations with Stoorza, Ziegaus & Metzger Inc. in Los Angeles. His duties will include strategic relations counsel. Woolcott joined the firm in 1995.

Rosalie Zalis has joined Edelman Public Relations Worldwide as senior consultant to the firm’s California public affairs practice in Los Angeles. She will serve as a senior strategist for initiatives regarding technology, entertainment and women’s issues. Zalis was previously senior policy advisor to former Gov. Pete Wilson.

Real Estate

Peter Best, Richard Cober and David Sears have been appointed principals of Trammell Crow Co. in Los Angeles. They will retain their operational titles of senior vice presidents. Best will oversee leasing and marketing of Century Plaza Towers, Cober is in charge of regional management and operations services and Sears oversees general management activities of portfolio management and asset dispositions and acquisitions.

Chuck Hawley has been promoted to vice president of the Southern California Region for Wilson Cornerstone Properties. He will be responsible for the operation and asset performance for all Southern California properties. Hawley was previously with Prentiss Properties.

Joe Kimaz has been promoted to senior vice president with Grubb & Ellis Co. in West Los Angeles. He specializes in Los Angeles-area investment properties. Kimaz joined the firm in 1992. Also, Jordan Richman has been promoted to senior vice president. He specializes in hospitality properties including hotels and resorts. Richman joined the firm in 1990. In addition, Mark Einbund has been promoted to vice president. He specializes in leasing and sale of retail properties.

Terry Kohlstrand has joined Fred Sands Affiliates as executive vice president in Los Angeles. He will manage the company’s 38 sales offices and accounts. Kohlstrand was formerly senior regional marketing manager for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Service.
